dog walk 2
why do they like this plant ? it's the only one with these stripy insects all over
now this plant is covered with snails.
green box - i call this the sorting hat tree. and in purple that's my bedroom window
all the plants are in a sad state. very few flowers
holly hocks looking a bit threadbare
i do love the mullin, very cheering, - but looking rather sparse
this knobbly trunk caught my eye - still sprouting life
despite the heat the river has not quite dried up this year
i love this tree
the view from my bench up the digue, the river bank
view from my bench down the digue
dog walk 1
these cheer me up - love this blue. looking a bit worn out at the mo
fair as a star when only one is shining in the sky
tommy, ginger and i
well, at least something is thriving
this is the house where i asked a lady if she was ok once, now often she waits and pretends to be opening the shutters and smiles and waves
beautiful gnarly old thing
where would we be without the laurier rose in summer - it flowers for months and makes sure there's a bit of colour
little and large
mediterranean pine. love the light against the stormy sky
this is my bench
our flat.

Across the Universe
managed to sew a bit this week and managed to tinker with the linked double chain stitch to make this. have altered how it is stitched slightly to give the stitch a better geometry. am rather pleased with this. dont know why i called it "Across the Universe".
anyway makes up for the crises including the blanket see last post and joanna getting dehydrated, confusion, forgetting her meds so pain and asthma.
our lives may be many things but they're not boring.

blanket
the crisis of the last few days is cos i thought i would be helpful and put a bunch of stuff in the washer - including a chenille blanket that my mum had bought me but had got a bit dusty. dopey head here forgot it was dry clean only. it's disintegrated all over the other washing, all over the house, all over the balcony. and the dust is making us wheeze. so we keep cleaning and dusting - mercifully the helpers have taken it in good sort and have not been toooooo cross with me. another one to put in the biography :-)

heat wave
heat wave - 38-40°. unusual this late in the year. just after i thought the weather had broken - spoke too soon.
found out that joanna's home help hours have been seriously under-calculated. trying to summon the energy or the anger to write to the boss.
still not found a dog walker. very hard. the girls so love the dogs, they cheer them up and provide interest and comfort.

bits and bats
we cleared the plant pots on
the balcony, got rid of the dead plants, swept and scrubbed. in the
night ginger biscuit went and had a lovely dig. it's all over; and she
walked it all round the flat on her paws. :-)
missed another family gathering in norfolk :-( but had a lovely phone call from cousin ray the day before :-)
still hot. at least the tourist board will be pleased. the supermarket was crawling with people. message to self must be organised enough to not need shopping on saturdays.
finally found some ppl who do dog walking (at a price) but not got anyone free after all. perhaps i'll have to carry out my threat to make ginger into fur gloves - i'm joking, not in this heat ...
not sewed for a few weeks. it was nice while it lasted and at least i'm in hopes that it will come back. to think it's only a few years ago i couldnt hold a pen to write.
have nearly finished the disability application forms. what a slog. filling in legal aid forms to to get someone to represent us. did that a couple of years ago and the disability authorities just quietly lost our files ! no hearing date, solicitor cant do anything.
my new tip up arm chair arrived and is settled in the sitting room. everyone sits in it. i really like that :-) and have got new covers for the settee - light cover so can be taken off to wash easily of course cos we have accidents. very pleased. will post photo another time. there that gives everyone something to look forward to doesnt it.
